Today’s thoughts are from Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In every one of Paul’s letters we find words of encouragement, doctrines explained and patterns for living taught. All these things had one objective, to help in the Believer’s transformation.
Today’s verse (Ephesians 4:15) is no exception; ” But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, who is the head, even Christ:”
Paul’s thoughts are that we need to hear the Truth about how we’re living, how we’re treating each other, what we believe and practice as part of the body of believers, so that we may make corrections that align us more closely to Jesus and His teachings. Often times we don’t like to hear our shortcomings pointed out, we get defensive (a give-away that they’re right) and angry and dig our heels in just to prove them wrong. That’s one reaction. The other reaction (much less common) is that we take in what we’re told, examine ourselves to see if that person has a legitimate point. One reaction is rooted in pride, the other in humility. Every day we’re faced with making decisions, those decisions are a reflection of who we follow and testify to the strength of our beliefs. We choose each day to draw closer to Christ or to wander away from Him. Consciously or subconsciously, we make descions based on conditioning. Praying we condition our hearts, souls, and minds so that we’re transformed daily into someone who resembles Jesus Christ! GOD’S Love to you all! Mike
