Today’s devotional thoughts are about us. “Us” in the context of the results of our connection to either Christ or our worldly nature. The passage from which I’m taking today’s verse is a teaching where Jesus is instructing the Jewish religious leaders that the two distinctly different kinds of righteousness produce distinctly different results.
Matthew 12:33 “Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit.”
Notice the verb “make”. The righteousness that comes from relationship connected with Christ results in a good tree, because Christ can only produce good. The righteousness comes from our relationship connected with ourself can only result in a bad tree because we are by nature bad. The spiritual connections we make, either with the Highest and Holiest Living GOD or with the evil nature that lives within the human heart, make an eternal difference. All we have to do is Choose…..
