History is … remarkable and insightful and revealing. It tells us about ourselves, about others and looking from the Biblical position, tells us about GOD. In Joshua we have the historical account of the conquest of the Holy Land. One thing (of many) we can learn about GOD from looking back over what He’s done is His trustworthiness. If GOD says He’s going to do something, we can trust Him that He will do it. One example is found in Joshua.
Joshua 10:8 “And the LORD said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into your hand; there shall not a man of them stand before you.”
GOD, in this case, says He’s going to make something come about in the near future. And if we read further in the historical account, we learn that, true to His Word, GOD delivered the enemy into Joshua’s hands. Over and over again, GOD says He’s going to do something, and He does. And we learn that when GOD makes a promise, He keeps it. The characteristic revealed is the Trustworthiness of GOD. So my prayer is twofold. First, as we read the Word we look for things to be revealed. And secondly, When GOD makes a promise to us, we stand firmly on that promise. Blessings and Grace, Mike
